True JOY - The Cycle Tool for Brain State 4

When you first start doing Cycle, my suggestion is to just have at it. Just trying is a victory. Also, don't expect much. Early in using EBT emotions are not as deep, so the Cycle penetrate and enable you to find unreasonable expectations. It's only as you use it over time, and feel that powerful switch from stress to joy that the tool becomes even more powerful.

However, right from the start, chances are you'll feel the shirt. Knowing what is happening when you use it, adds to the richness of the experience. First, be sure you are in Brain State 4, not 3 or 5. If you are in those states, use Emotional Housecleaning and you'll pop to 1 or 2. In either case, use a tool again to get to a deep, pure, fabulous Brain State 1. If you are in Brain State 5, use Damage Control. That could put you to Brain State 1, but it can also move you to Brain State 4, the state of that Moment of Opportunity. Read more »

Brain State 4 - A Moment of Opportunity

What is halfway between Brain State 3 and Brain State 5. How does it feel to be in Brain State 4 and why is it the Moment of Opportunity?

I'm in Brain State 4 right now. Yum!  Without EBT, I would say something less socially-acceptable. Instead, I say to myself, @#$%$, I wonder what that neural circuit is anyway. I get it. I'll use The Cycle Tool and find out!

You know you are in Brain State 4 when you are more than a little stressed. It is the anchor of our unconscious emotional expectations that hold us out of the pit of unstoppable stress, and in Brain State 3 they are largely in tact. 4 Cubes of Butter On Your Body -- Why?

In EBT we don't focus on weight loss early in the training because, what's the point? Sure you lose weight, but you'll regain it, because the wiring of stress is still sitting there inside you triggering appetites and favoring each extra French fry going to fat. Toward the end of training, when we are wired at 1, the weight falls off. Someone in the group today talked about putting on genes, and realizing they were way to big. However, even late in the training certain neural circuits that promote weight gain are still rattling around. Read more »

For the LOVE of Veggies . . . .

Fruit sounds healthy, but ever notice that it makes you hungry or doesn't satisfy? That's because fructose, the sugar in fruit doesn't affect ghrelin, a chemical that creates satiety. So we consume the calories but don't have the full feeling. That's not the case with veggies. Love 'em. Hate 'em. Eat 'em. I never eat anything I don't like, but by filling half my plate with veggies (that I like) and another half with lean protein, and a dab of something else, all sprinkled with some olive oil or healthy fats, food tastes fabulous and I get that feeling of satisfaction, all while losing weight or keeping weight down. eLearning Testers Needed

Dear EBT Community,

We are in the process of developing an EBT eLearning program where someone new to EBT can purchase it and go on the website and watch instructional videos and quizzes in order to learn how to use the 5 Point system.

We see this as a great introduction to EBT and hope that it makes the training accessible to even more people.

In this process we are looking for people interested in testing our new course and to give us feed back on how to continue to develop it.
