The Story Told Under the Bed: Revelations
The Story Told Under the Bed: Revelations
I remember Erica Jong writing about dust motes in For Claudia, Against Narrowness. I read the poem to my daughter Haley, and when she gave a speech at graduation from high school, she used that as the basis for her talk. I still love the poem and wanted to share it with you.
That said, what made me think of it was dust motes. It is the story of what is under your bed, what you keep there. My story at this moment is: Way too many books. Magazines that I should have tossed long ago. Some data sets, clipped together after being printed out. Old jewelry. A broom, perhaps left there from last time I tried to clear it out.
There are probably some dust motes, too.
