Treat Hypertension

Stress is a major cause of high blood pressure. With repeated episodes of high blood pressure during stress, the brain creates a new set point of blood pressure that is elevated. Stress also triggers dietary and lifestyle changes that increase risk of hypertension.

EBT includes lifestyle changes and medical management to decrease blood pressure. In a study conducted at UCSF and another by University of Illinois researchers, using EBT was associated with lowering of systolic and diastolic blood pressure in the short- and long-term. EBT provides the tools to reconsolidate the neural circuits in the brain that amplify stress, and build neural circuits that promote the relaxation response. It promotes the stress-reducing effects of high intensity natural pleasures and rewards.
